Mixed Signals is your primary address in Switzerland for high end recording, production and mixing of metal, rock, pop music and beyond.
Our clients include Illumishade, Polarshift, Susurration, Ruby State, Second Daughter, Varda just to name a few. We work across many different genres, we love music that is honest and tries to be authentic, and also has some grit.
Our studio is located in the heart of Zurich, and features two control rooms, a live room and a spacious lobby.

Recording
In our studio, right next to the Helvetiaplatz in the city center of Zurich we offer a cozy space ready to record your music. A range of instruments is at your disposal, such as an upright piano, a beautiful grand piano, a vintage drumkit with a selection of snares as well as a range of guitars, and our room-in-room allows sessions until late at night.
Mixing
In our acoustically optimized controlroom we deliver the polish your recordings deserve. With attention to detail and a well curated selection of quality plugins we transform your raw tracks into a release-ready work of art, ready for the world to hear.
Production
We offer full productions, bringing our creativity and attention to detail to every step of the process. Either in our base-studio in the heart of Zurich, or if your project calls for it in any other studio you wish to record in.

Team
Michael Hirst
Michael Hirst is a tonmeister with a bachelor degree from the Zürich School of the Arts. He is professionally trained in everything involving sound engineering, production and musicianship.
Michael is a musician at heart. He has a bachelor of arts as a jazz guitarist and can play and write in a wide variety of genres. Be that progressive metal, punk, pop, alternative / indie rock, jazz, film music or EDM (just to name a few), Michael knows his way around.
Hannes Bachofner
Hannes has completed his Master of Arts of Tonmeister at the Zurich University of Arts in 2023. The drummer and keyboardist is passionate about capturing and translating emotions with music, as well as editing vocals.
